A simple side table styling - wicker table with glass top and ornament with plant

I’m using the gorgeous little bamboo and glass side table that I picked up from a local charity shop for the princely sum of £10 to demonstrate some simple styling ideas using bits that I already had around the house.

Styling Option 1

I generally use the ‘rule of three’ when styling a side table, end of mantlepiece or similar. 3 items work really well together and you can experiment with different heights, shapes, textures and colours. Foliage whether real, faux or foraged always works well and adds interest.

The first look incorporated a beautiful vintage jug, a white metal jug (newish but with an aged look) and a wicker candle from good old B&Ms. I added some foraged stems and some faux leaves which add interest. The different colours and textures work really well together.

Styling Option 2

The second look uses some pretty vases, one in my favourite colours, pink & blue. The other white vase has a lovely textured surface and the third item is a cute little candle with a wooden lid.

Again I used the foraged stems which add height and interest and added some pretty eucalyptus leaves and faux flowers.

Styling Option 3

The third look uses a sculpted vase, I picked this one up from B&Ms but similar ones are available in H&M Home too.

The little teardrop bud vase and trailing plant are both from Dunelm but you can grab similar options from Homesense or Ikea.

This is a much simpler, pared-down look but super effective in the right space.

Styling Option 4

The fourth and final look (although there are endless styling possibilities) again uses the sculpted vase this time styled with a couple of eucalyptus stems to add more height and give a softer feel.

The teardrop bud vase and the wicker candle also add shape and texture.

Happy Styling!
